With 1 Gbps bandwidth, you’ll enjoy a smooth gaming experience and afterward maybe a streamed movie or two. And have you ever cursed your wi-fi for being too slow or not covering your entire home? That’s not a worry with the Ethernet jacks in every room of our apartments.

a soldier
You’re in good company with us. We’ve been housing soldiers since we opened in 1986, and we still love to see you in our community, a mere 0.6 miles from gate 5. In the morning, it’s either a quick drive to Fort Polk or an easy jog to help you meet your daily exercise requirement.
Maybe you’ve met landlords who don’t know the law when it comes to soldiers with orders and refused to release you from your lease or wanted to impose early termination penalties. That’s not us. We know if you have PCS, ETS, or deployment orders, you have to leave, and you’ll get everything you’re owed. We even added it to our lease agreement for your added protection.
a remote worker
Remote work is one of the great leaps forward of the modern age. If you’re fortunate enough to have 100% remote work, you also have 100% flexibility in where you live. All you need is a great Internet connection.

There are myriad reasons to relocate, even temporarily. You could be looking to lower your cost of living. Nationwide, we have extraordinarily low rent. You might want to enjoy the perks of the digital nomad by experiencing places and lifestyles you don’t know, or by escaping the concrete-and-plexiglass urban landscape. Our environment is semi-rural, close to nature, quiet, and intimate. Perhaps to boost your creativity or productivity, you need a different climate or even just a new view out the window behind your laptop screen. We have plenty of sun and woods and wildlife all around. We also offer month-to-month leases, and there are places to rent furnishings on a short-term basis close by (see our “Local Area” section).

a contractor or company seeking temporary housing
on a fixed income (e.g Social Security)
If you’re on a fixed income such as Social Security or disability, you might have discovered you can no longer afford where you live—or don’t want to. Ideally, you’d live somewhere your dollars count for more and you can rely on stable rent.
We can give you the security of an annual lease so your rent will remain predictable, and when a rent increase does come, we keep it moderate. We understand your annual cost of living adjustment doesn’t allow for sudden extravagances.
If you’ve reached your golden years and want to enjoy some relaxed, subtropical weather after a lifetime of work, we can give you a Florida or California climate without Florida and California prices. Our units are also all ground-level, and we have wheelchair-accessible apartments to give you maximum mobility.
a HUD Section 8 voucher recipient
We’re approved to receive HUD Section 8 housing vouchers, and we would welcome you into our community. Your next step is your housing authority. Tell them you want to live at Country Manor Apartments, and they’ll take care of the paperwork with us.
jobless, but moving
Moving to a new area can be a chicken-and-egg problem, especially when it’s far away. Without local contacts, it’s hard to find a job, but without a job ready and waiting, it’s hard to find housing.
Ordinarily, we require prospects to have income at least three times the rental rate of the apartment they choose, but we offer options that may make renting with us possible before you secure a job.
The first option is to get a guarantor to sign the lease for you. A guarantor is someone who promises to pay your rent if you can’t. We would run a credit check on your guarantor instead of you, and if you default on your lease, we would require payment of the outstanding rent for the remaining term of the lease from your guarantor.
The second option is prepayment. For month-to-month leases, which carry a surcharge, we require two months of prepayment plus prorated rent for the month of move-in, even if it’s the full month. That’s in addition to your security deposit and any pet deposits necessary, all due prior to move-in in cash or via money order. If you’d like help understanding exactly how much that means in your case, please contact us. This option isn’t available for longer leases, but once you find a job with sufficient income, we’ll be happy to offer you a longer lease to get rid of the month-to-month surcharge.
